MODOROVE PUMPING STATION - PORT GENTIL

CUSTOMER: THE SOCIÉTÉ D'EAU ET D'ENERGIE DU GABON (SEEG) (Gabonese water and energy company)
LOCATION: PORT GENTIL, GABON
Missions:
The Mandorové pumping station supplies the Port Gentil water treatment plant. The project involved replacing the main pump delivering 1200 m³/h and 160 mWC of total head and the appurtenant equipment (flowmeters, surge control tanks, power supply). The station is 40 km from the town and accessible only by tracks or waterway.
The F&M solution:

The hydraulic diagnosis conducted by FELJAS & MASSON enabled distribution via the existing supply pipeline to be increased to its maximum capacity.

Key data:

Port-Gentil is the provincial capital of Ogooué-Maritime and the second largest town in Gabon. It is the country's economic capital. The town's drinking water supply originally came from wells but, due to increased urbanization, the ground water began showing signs of salt water infiltration. The Port Gentil administration therefore decided to supplement the underground water supply by river abstraction.
